We loved this dress it looked good on everyone. |

These two vests are the same pattern. |
Looking at the pictures I now remember why I did not post the blog sooner. Besides forgetting about it with my busy summer. I still do not have a picture of Jean's Jacket that she made from fabric she purchased in Madison from the Gay Feather shop. So Jean when you can please send me pictures for our next Guild Blog.
Fronts and backs of Mary Sue's many garments.
The cutting and sewing begins followed by lots of instruction from Mary Sue including a little design help.
Carol designing her embellishments |
Then the
final projects are complete. We all finished our garments in
the three day workshop with very beautiful results. We were all happy with our new garments and enjoyed hanging out with Mary Sue and learning more about garment construction as well as being inspired by her creative talent.
Deb's handwoven fabric was beautiful and the pattern she picked out was great. Check out the back of this jacket.
Phyllis and her long jacket. It was stunning on her.
My finished Jacket, Rayon and Linen mix yarn. |
Carol was so happy with her jacket from fabric she wove years ago for a sweater. |
I think we all had a lot of fun there were only five of us who took the workshop but look at the smiles.
I hope next year more of our guild members will join us and we can encourage some from the community to sign up that would be great.
Thanks to Carol for putting Mary Sue and myself up in Houghton again this year and to Deb for organizing the workshop and Phyllis and Deb for providing a meal for Mary Sue when she was visiting. I was lucky and thankful to be included with Mary Sue for these great meals.
