Weaving Workshops in Michigan's U.P. Hancock MI

Buellwood Weavers and Fiber Guild and the Calumet Art Center are sponsoring  2  - 3 day workshops this year they are open to the public.

 June 3, 4 and 5 - 2013 ‘One of a Kind Art Jacket to fit you’ Mary Sue Fenner  is coming to Finlandia University in Hancock MI to teach her Jacket Class. We had so much fun last year that a number of our guild members are going to join Mary Sue for a Trunk show and 3 days of cutting and sewing our handwoven fabric.  Hand dyed, embellished or felted fabric as well as commercial fabric are also acceptable.  Right now the cost of the workshop is $300 but will be adjusted if we get more signed up.  Contact Mary Brownell at 906 884 6565 or if you are interested by May 15th.

September 20, 21 and 22 – 2013  the Calumet Art Center in Calumet Michigan will host Nadine Sanders 3 Day workshop: Triple Play - Weaving That Sings Check out the Calumet Art Center's website for current pictures of Nadine's Work under welcome!

This workshop will be open to the public and will be for all levels of weavers. You will learn the inlay technique for Tapestry, Fabric or Rug weaving; as well as how to add design to your weaving. Nadine will also perform a concert with her fiddle and voice to celebrate the U.P. Highland Days. Nadine Sanders is a fiber artist, weaving teacher, music teacher and performer known as The Singing Weaver. Check out her website gallery at

Class Fee: $210 a down payment of $100 will hold your spot.

Materials Fee: $10

 ***** In May of 2013 our guild is hosting Bea Grob, who is coming from Switzerland to teach a 'Paper Weaving Workshop'.  The workshop is almost full we have one spot left.
